This is the last week of the third quarter!  Remember that we have a half day on Friday.  Report cards will be passed out on Friday morning, as well as awards.  If your child will not be at school on Friday, I will have them available the week after at the front office.

I will have a substitute on both Friday and Monday for a bike race.  However, if you have any questions, you can always email me and I will do my best to get back to you quickly.

This week in class in math, we will finish Vertex Edge Graphs and begin reviewing for the AIMS.  In reading, we will continue working out of Buckle Down and focus on non-fiction reading strategies.  In writing, we will review personal narrative essays.  In science, we will learn about the phases of the moon.

No spelling this week!

Welcome to the second to last week before the end of the third quarter!

As a quick reminder, I want to make sure that all parents are using engrade.com.  This is an incredibly useful tool for you to check your child's grades online AS I UPDATE THEM.

Due to students failing to turn in a large portion of their homework each week, I have a new policy.  If a student misses three or more assignments within a week, they will have afterschool detention that Friday.  This policy goes into effect TODAY!

It is essential that your child is here this week, as we are doing benchmark testing for AIMS.  This is a way for us as a school to see what we can do better to make sure everyone learns.  Any problem areas can be caught and I can reteach any missed concepts.

This week in math, we will begin vertex-edge graphs.  In reading, we will review some of the concepts learned regarding author's purpose.  In writing, students will be asked to write informational paragraphs.  In science, we will begin learning about the planets.
