Gonzales Weekly

Gonzales Weekly
10/29/12

Please make sure your child is doing their homework!  There was a HUGE drop in homework last week!  Progress reports come out in two weeks and I don't want to see any F's!

Thank you to all parents who donated candy and volunteered their time (or just came!) at the Harvest Fest!!  We had so much fun and it was wonderful to see everyone in their costumes!

As a reminder to parents, DO NOT allow your child to go to school with their Halloween candy!  If I see it out, I will take it and they will NOT get it back.

We have a lot to do this week!  In math, we will have a test on the first half of our fractions unit and then work on comparing fractions, decimals, and percents.  In reading, we will continue to read Esperanza Rising.  In writing, we will practice writing introductions.  In science, we will continue our work on the human body.  In social studies, we will do presentations about the causes of the American Revolution.

Homework will be problemsets 31-33, three spelling activities, reading log, and current events.  I reserve the right to add homework as needed.

Spelling list for the week:
1)   smear
2)   squirm
3)   early
4)   thirst
5)   term
6)   pearl
7)   perch
8)   worse

Have a great week!
