Gonzales Weekly

Gonzales Weekly
10/08/12
Welcome back to La Paloma Academy!

This week, you have a LOT of different papers going home with you.  Please make sure you look through them all!  Also it is Parent Teacher Conference Week!  If you signed up for a conference (which every parent did), please make sure you come!  I'm really looking forward to meeting with everyone.

In addition to your child's regular math, spelling, and reading homework each week, I am adding one more piece.  Your child will bring home a Scholastic News magazine and will be required to do a current event.  I will explain everything to your child today and they will know my expectations.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me at your PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE.  Math will be problemsets 22-24 and regular spelling and reading logs.

This week in math, we will do a unit on decimals.  This includes naming and adding/subtracting them.  In reading, we will begin the book Esperanza Rising.  They are not required to purchase this book.  In writing, we will continue keeping to the main idea in a paragraph.  In science, we will learn more about bones.  In social studies, we will begin learning about the American Revolution.
