Gonzales Weekly
10/22/12
Welcome
to another Monday!
This
Friday is the Harvest Fest from 6-8 PM.
Tickets are available for pre-sale now!
Please consider volunteering to help me and Miss Jarvis at our
booth! We'll be doing the Spin-A-Prize
and we would love more parent volunteers!
Make
sure that your child is doing ALL of their homework. This includes spelling, math, reading log,
and NOW their current event. I have
several students failing subjects already because they aren't getting their homework
done. At conferences, I did my best to
emphasize how important homework is in my class. Make sure you hold your child accountable for
homework!
The
cookie dough fundraiser is still going on!
Make sure to sell it, as all of the money made from fundraisers this
year will go towards adding technology to our classrooms.
In
math, we will continue fractions, comparing and adding/subtracting fractions
with unlike denominators. In reading, we
will continue reading Esperanza Rising and will focus on main ideas. In writing, we will finish the rough draft of
our prompt from last week. In science,
we will continue learning about the human body (there will be a test in several
short weeks!). In social studies, we
will finish our jigsaw about the start of the American Revolution and then
learn about the Boston Tea Party.
