Good afternoon! I hope that you had a great weekend!
Remember that it is Martin Luther King Jr. day Monday, so there is no school!
In math, we will finish up our unit on measurement and conversions. There will be a test on Wednesday.
For reading, we are continuing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. We will begin doing activities with this book starting tomorrow! The class is very excited about reading these books. While buying a book is not required this quarter, I would highly recommend that you purchase a copy for your child to follow along when I am reading.
In science, we will start a unit on the solar system. In social studies, we will begin studying the Constitution.
Spelling words are going to be the first round of our spelling bee on Friday. Every student is expected to know all 25 words.
Spelling bee words:
- atlas
- attic

IF your child received at least an “A” on their practice spelling test, I am giving them harder words for their spelling homework. I expect them to do ALL FIFTEEN. If you wish for your child to study more words (with more direction than just the giant list), take a look at these words, which are guaranteed to be on the second round.
Second round words:
1. axis
2. guilty
3. herbs
4. inning
5. island
6. kindle
7. mayor
