Gonzales weekly 11/28/11

Can you believe we only have three weeks left until we are halfway done with the school year?

Before I review our academic objectives, I have a couple quick points to go over:

-We will have a Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 15^th.  We will be walking to Grace to the Nations church and performing it there.  Please make sure that you sign your child’s permission slip.  They will not be allowed to go until the permission form is signed.

-Tax credit forms are available!  Remember that any amount that you donate will reduce your state tax liability dollar-for-dollar!  I will be sending forms out every Monday.

-Mr. Emory’s class is heading up the food drive this year.  Please consider donating any spare canned goods!  The class with the most cans will receive a class party and dress-down passes!

Academic goals:

Math: We will finish our unit on fractions, decimals, and percents and take a test on Wednesday.  The rest of the week will be spent reviewing.

Reading: We will continue to do assignments related to the City of Ember.

Writing: The class will each write expository essays describing their 5 day weekend.

Science: This week’s newspaper revolves around hazardous chemicals that pollute our environment.

Social Studies: We will finish out the school year learning about the American Revolution.
