Gonzales Weekly

09/26/2011
I hope that everyone had a great weekend! In math, we will continue learning about the commutative, associative, and distributive properties. In reading, we will read several short story passages and do some
test prep. In writing, we will begin our weekly 5 paragraph essays. In social studies, we will read about Columbus coming to America and do several activities around it.

Please note that we have less than 3 weeks until the end of the quarter! Beginning today, I am starting a homework detention rule. If your child misses two or more homework assignments in a week, they will receive afterschool detention. Sometimes, I do not receive ANYTHING from some students each week.
This is detrimental to their education. I assign homework that will help your child master certain skills. They need to be doing their homework!

Gonzales Weekly

I hope everyone had a fantastic 3 day weekend!

In math, we will continue practicing factors, and will eventually find the GCF and LCM of two numbers.  In reading, the class will continue exploring their fairy tale and begin to come up with an idea for their adaptation.  We will continue reading our weekly newspapers in both science and social studies.  Please make sure that you are reading them with your child when you bring it home!  This is a fun way to see what your child is learning in class!
Also, if you did not schedule a parent teacher conference, please email me to set up a time!  I have a lot of time slots left, and I would like to meet with every parent this month!
